In a state of the city address a few weeks ago, Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris described the city as “a Christian community and we are proud of that.”Legal Jihadists and unindicted co-conspirators in an FBI terrorism case from CAIR, the Council on Islamic American Relations, a Muslim front group, heavily funded by Islamic terrorists, claims the mayor improperly used his office to promote Christianity and indicated that it plans to file a complaint with the Department of Justice.

The findings, to be published later this month in the respected British Social Attitudes Survey, show that far greater opposition to Islam than to any other faith and reveal that most people are willing to limit freedom of speech in an attempt to silence religious extremists.
David Voas, professor of population studies at Manchester University, who analysed the data, said that people were becoming intolerant towards all religions because of “the degree to which Islam is perceived as a threat to social cohesion.” He said: “Muslims deserve to be the focus of policy on social cohesion, because no other group elicits so much disquiet.”
The “size and visibility” of Islamic communities has led to serious concerns about their impact on British society, Prof Voas concludes. “This apparent threat to national identity (or even, some fear, to security) reduces the willingness to accommodate free expression.
Researchers interviewed 4,486 people for the survey, which is published annually by the National Centre for Social Research. The report describes a high level of unease regarding the UK’s Muslim population, estimated at around two million, with many people considering that it poses a threat to the nation’s identity.
While 55% say that they would be “bothered” by the construction of a large mosque in their community, only 15% would be similarly concerned by a large church. UK TELEGRAPH

On sale exclusively at Target is this innocent-looking toy globe. Thousands of these trinkets have already moved out of malls, from Queens to Honolulu, and landed in living rooms and kids’ rooms across America. But folks who forked over a buck for the miniature worlds got less than they bargained for.
These planetary models contain just about all the countries on Earth — from France to China, Singapore to Spain. But there’s one glaring exception: Israel
In the spot where Israel should be, this word is printed: “Palestine.” Some of those who unwittingly purchased the Israel-free orbs feel as if they’ve played a role in a modern-day Final Solution.
“They’re teaching kids there is no Israel, only Palestine,” said Rabbi Gary Moskowitz, who bought a globe at the Queens Center Mall for his 5-year-old daughter. “This encourages terrorism. This foments hatred.”
Bob Kunst learned of the globe’s omission when a friend’s 12-year-old daughter in Florida asked innocently, “Where’s Israel?” ”The very people who deny Israel’s existence also deny the Holocaust,” he said.
After receiving complaints, Target, which sold the globes for several weeks, finally responded. On Sunday, it began yanking the globes from its 1,744 stores in 49 states (Vermont is Target-free), and destroying them. We hope.
“We didn’t want to offend any of our guests,” said Amy Reilly of Target customer relations, who initially said the omission of Israel was due to lack of space on the item. (Isn’t “Palestine” a longer word?)
Devrian Global Industries of New Jersey, which imported “tens of thousands” of globes from China, apologized. “Obviously, it was a mistake. We obviously offended some people. Now we’re pulling them off the shelves,” said chief merchandising officer Larry Fine. No estimate on how many were sold. IUC
In a 40 year flashback to the glories of 1960’s anti-war outrage, infamously left-wing Riverside Church in New York City is hosting a “Truth Commission on Conscience in War” next month. It will “receive testimony, process their findings, and recommend strategies for change, healing, and reconciliation,” while lifting “up the silenced and invisible voices of victims, offering survivors a public forum to testify to their experiences.”
The “commissioners” of this “truth commission” includes a who’s who of far-left religious activism. The testifiers are mostly a small circle of embittered veterans and conspiracy theorists, including former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, who’s still pondering possible U.S. involvement in contriving 9-11.
So the March 21-22 spectacle at dramatically gothic Riverside Church on New York’s upper West Side will be an absurd theater of macabre conspiracy speculations, sanctimonious guilt trips about supposed U.S. crimes, and indignant condemnations of everyone not on the far-left who has failed to advocate full surrender to jihadist Islam. In short, it might be wonderful entertainment, if not treated too seriously. The ghost of the late William Sloane Coffin, former Riverside pastor, may even haunt the commission’s somber hearing, ghoulishly chanting old protest slogans from the Vietnam War era.
Among the testifiers will be Iraq War Veteran Logan Latuiri, who evidently left the military when he was not permitted to redeploy to Iraq without a gun. Recently active with Christian Peacemaking Teams [in Israel and “Palestine”] and his own anti-war group, Centurion’s Guild, Latuiri announced on Jim Wallis’ Sojourners blog that he is ”overjoyed” to join in the Riverside Church “truth commission” extravaganza. The former soldier pronounced himself a “strict pacifist” and opined hopefully that the Riverside hearing will “build bridges” between pacifism and Just War believers.
Given the locale and organizers, the “truth commission” is far likelier to become a Stalinist-style denunciation of and trial without jury of America’s supposed crimes against humanity. The project director oddly is radical feminist theologian Rita Nakashima Brock, who is more experienced in challenging the patriarchy and heterosexism than in exposing American militarism. Other commissioners include Princeton University’s George Hunsinger of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture [by the U.S.], former Riverside Church pastor James Forbes, former Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) President Richard Hamm, left-wing Rabbi Arthur Waskow of The Shalom Center, United Methodism’s Drew University Theological School President Maxine Beach, and New York’s Union Seminary President Serene Jones.
Defending the Riverside Church hearing over which she will preside, Rita Nakashima Brock recently denounced President Obama’s surge in Afghanistan as the “strongest evidence of his failure both as Commander-in-Chief and as a peacemaker.” After all, Afghanistan is just “another quagmire like Vietnam,” an equally “endless, poorly planned, losing war begun by one president and continued by his successors.” But Religious Left activists like Brock, who portray all of Western Civilization as a dark and patriarchal, oppressive manacle on suffering humanity, cannot imagine any war in defense of America with moral merit.
Supposedly the Riverside hearing, as Brock described it in an op-ed, will thoughtfully articulate how individual military personnel should, as a religious freedom, have the “right to object to a particular war.” After all, they “ undertake tremendous risks and hardship to protect the nation,” should not have to “sacrifice their consciences to serve,” and instead should be able to “continue serving, in good conscience, the country they love.” Those careful words sound nice. But in actuality, Brock and most of the others would like an emasculated military full of Christian Peacemaking Team activists, never willing to carry arms, but more than willing to perform as pacifist neutralists who obstruct all “violence.”
In his Sojourners blog, Logan Laituri gave a foretaste about the “truth commission’s” bent by bemoaning how in “our representative form of government, it is hard to escape even a fraction of complicity for the damage we are causing across the world.” Indeed, he knows that the “military as it exists today is a system that makes it difficult to do good and very easy to do evil.” Evidently, the guilt-laden spectacle next month at Riverside Church will help to ease his conscience about serving in Iraq. Even more importantly, it will help Religious left activists like Rita Brock smugly feign moral superiority not only over military personnel but most Americans, including most Christians, who are not intrinsically ashamed of their country. Immigrants should sign a ‘no burka’ contract before being allowed to live in France, the country’s families minister hassaid. It would be added to an ‘integration agreement’ that all newcomers already have to commit to, which also bans forced marriages and polygamy.
Nadine Morano said: ‘Equality between men and women is a fundamental principle of French society. ’This applies to polygamy, forced marriages, female mutilation and the full-face veil.’
Her proposal came at a government conference yesterday following a three-month debate on national identity. Last month a government committee said women who wear the garment should be barred from using public transport and outlawed from public buildings like schools and hospitals.
But the official inquiry by a group of MPs stopped short of recommending a total ban of the garments, saying they should still be allowed in private homes. The committee’s head Andre Gerin said a full ban could enflame Muslim tensions and drive some to extremism. (Exactly why Muslim immigrants should be banned)
Such a move could also backfire as it was likely to be challenged by the European Court of Human Rights, he said. (EuroWeenies)
Ms Morano has the backing of many prominent MPs in her call to have immigrants who wear burkas banned from staying in France. French interior minister Brice Hortefeux said in December that both women who wear veils and their husbands should be ’systematically refused’ French residents’ permits.
And President Nicolas Sarkozy has branded face veils ‘a sign of debasement’ and said they were not welcome in France. The French parliament will vote on a partial or complete ban within several months and the proposals could come into force by the end of the year. UK DAILY MAIL
Young MUSLIM children in Britain are being indoctrinated to hate non-Muslims and champion a holy war, a documentary says.“No child is ever too young to be started off on Jihad training,” states one document recovered by police from the North West’s Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) during raids.
CTU officers, interviewed by the BBC’s Inside Out team for a special programme, show the document and a film they recovered of two children aged about three and six playing with a pistol and Kalashnikov rifle.
The CTU police say its discoveries, made separately, are evidence of attempts to radicalise youngsters.
The footage, which police believe was filmed in Pakistan, was uncovered on the hard drive of a suspect’s computer – though investigators have not revealed when the material was seized. The video shows a girl and young boy playing with guns, which police believe are real.
A senior CTU officer, who cannot be identified for security reasons, tells the programme makers: “We believe this was filmed abroad. We have no idea who the children are.
We were shocked to find it at the house. We have no reason to believe this is faked. The guns are real.” UK EXPRESS

Avigdor Lieberman said, “Peace is in fact our heart’s desire, but it is not more important than Israel’s existence as the state of the Jewish people or than lasting security for its citizens. We extend our hand in peace to enemies, but as long as they choose the path of war, we must be firm, return battle, and defeat the enemy. We must strive for victory instead of talking about possible compromise, interpreted as weakness by our enemies.
“Our party, Yisrael Beiteinu, believes that we must free ourselves of the obsession of peace in exchange for land. Any future agreement will be based on peace for peace, and on the conception of maximum separation of the Jewish and Arab populaces, and on a regional solution, with the participation of Egyptian and Jordan.
“Peace talks can happen only after certain basic conditions are fulfilled: Terrorism must be defeated, a partner/leader must be found who wants peace and who is able to fulfill his promises; and there must be a basic change in the educational system of the Palestinian Authority, so that instead of educating towards the destruction of Israel, it will teach peace and acceptance.”
Lieberman also briefly reviewed his long-standing proposal for a population transfer. “One idea [for a peace agreement] is to have an exchange of territories and populations,” he said, referring to Arab-populated areas such as Umm el-Fahm, just south of the Galilee, which would become part of the PA entity, while large parts of Judea and Samaria would come under total Israeli sovereignty.
“The demand upon us is to remove all Jews from Judea and Samaria, just as we did in Gush Katif – which would mean that a totally Jew-free state would arise in those areas, at the same time that Israel remains a bi-national state [with a 20 percent Arab minority]. This is not acceptable. A future solution must be symmetrical, and must not perpetuate the conflict whose very basis is the clash between two peoples.” ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS

BAD NEWS: We need a permission slip from Barack Hussein Obama first.The U.S. intelligence community policy on killing American citizens who have joined al Qaeda requires first obtaining high-level government approval, a senior official disclosed to Congress on Wednesday. Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair said in each case a decision to use lethal force against a U.S. citizen must get special permission.
“We take direct actions against terrorists in the intelligence community,” he said. “If we think that direct action will involve killing an American, we get specific permission to do that.”
He also said there are criteria that must be met to authorize the killing of a U.S. citizen that include “whether that American is involved in a group that is trying to attack us, whether that American is a threat to other Americans. Those are the factors involved.”
Rep. Peter Hoekstra, Michigan Republican and ranking member of the House intelligence committee, asked Mr. Blair about the policy of targeting American citizens at a hearing. It was the first time there was public discussion about one of the most sensitive U.S. counterterrorism policies.
Mr. Blair’s remarks follow a report in The Washington Post last week that disclosed President Obama had personally authorized a Christmas eve drone attack against Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen in Yemen who is chief cleric for the terrorist group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Al-Awlaki is thought to have survived the attack. Al-Awlaki was in contact with Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian who tried and failed to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas Day.
Al-Awlaki was a former imam at a Falls Church, Va., mosque where Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the officer accused of killing 13 of his fellow service members at Fort Hood on Nov. 5, is said to have attended sermons and sought his advice over e-mail.READ MORE WASHINGTON TIMES
