WASHINGTON – An animal protection group asked a federal judge Wednesday to block a plan to round up about 2,500 wild horses to remove them from a Nevada range. The mustang roundup planned for Dec. 28 would be one of the largest in Nevada in recent years. Federal officials plan to use helicopters to force the horses into holding pens before placing them for adoption or sending them to long-term holding corrals in the Midwest. Mustang advocates say use of the helicopters is inhumane because some of the animals are traumatized, injured or killed.
A lawyer for In Defense of Animals, a California-based group that advocates on behalf of animal protection, called the roundup plan illegal. “The BLM’s policy of mass removal and stockpiling of horses was never authorized by Congress when it protected these iconic animals in 1971 as an important part of our national heritage,” said William Spriggs, a Washington lawyer who argued against the roundup plan in court Wednesday.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced the mustang roundups in October as part of a new management plan he said would avoid the need to kill any wild horses. Interior Department officials had warned last year that slaughtering some of the 69,000 wild horses and burros under federal control might be necessary to combat rising costs of maintaining them.
Salazar said the current program is not sustainable for the animals, the environment or taxpayers.(TAXPAYERS being the operative word here and since when are horses bad for the environment?) YAHOO NEWS

Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s Nobel Prize speech, proved once again, that not only is he ignorant of history, he is embarrassingly sycophantic when it comes to the history and nature of Islam.

In the very same week in which five American Muslim men were apprehended in Pakistan for intent to wage jihad, President Obama offeredthese words that so often sprinkle his messages: “Most dangerously, we see it in the way that religion is used to justify the murder of innocents by those who have distorted and defiled the great religion of Islam, and who attacked my country from Afghanistan. These extremists are not the first to kill in the name of God; the cruelties of the Crusades are amply recorded.”
President Obama loves to reference the Crusades as his one Christian parallel for the modern-day Islam of massive religiously-inspired violence. He could not be more wrong. Were Obama to read distinguished Cambridge historian Jonathan Riley-Smith’s The Crusades, Christianity, and Islam, he would find an excellent account of what happens when Islam expands it reach and what is required to thwart it.
Riley-Smith helpfully counters the modern misconception that Christians attacked Muslims in the Crusades without provocation to seize their lands and forcibly convert them. All the Crusades met the very criteria of the just wars in 
which President Obama sought to ground his Nobel speech. They came about in reaction to attacks against Christians or the Church. The First Crusade was called in 1095 to defend against the recent Turksih conquest of Christian Asia Minor as well as the earlier Arab conquest of what until then had been the Christian Holy Land. The second Crusade developed as a response to the Muslim conquest of Edessa in 1144. The third resulted from the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem and a number of other Christian lands in 1187. In each case, Christians went to war to defend Christians, to combat the attackers, and to rectify egregious wrongs.
President Obama continues to show a lack of history education as he likens the Crusaders to the Muslim jihadists. That ignorance is unacceptable. One would hope that in an Ivy League education that included undergraduate years at Columbia and law school at Harvard, the President would have had access to a non-politically correct reading of history. It appears not.
Thus, we are subjected to the historically negligent comments of a Nobel Peace Prize winner not only in his acceptance speech but in other addresses as well. In his 
West Point address regarding Afghanistan, Obama said, “As we know, these men belonged to al Qaeda – a group of extremists who have distorted and defiled Islam, one of the world’s great religions, to justify the slaughter of innocents.” In his official remarks at the beginning of Ramadan, the President commented, “These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”
One cannot help but ask, Are Obama’s history books lacking an account of the routine Islamic assaults against the infidel lands? For example, the path of coercion and violence inaugurated by Islam’s founder, Mohammed, shortly after he created his new religion in the 7th century? The jihadist conquest of Europe in the 8th century, finally repelled at Poitiers in 732 by Charles Martel? The anti-Christian assaults mentioned above which spawned the Crusades? The second Muslim European surge halted at Vienna in 1683? Or the modern day jihad against the West?
Frankly, the aggressive, relentless, militaristic dimension of Islam cannot be ignored. The stakes simply are too high. The very principles that make America exceptional hang in the balance. Freedom of religion. Freedom of speech. Equality of women. Freedom of assembly. None of these are valued in the Islamic world view, and we ignore that basic fact at our own peril. A strategy of ignorance paves a path to national suicide.
In the last month, we have not only seen the arrests of five more Muslim men from America in Pakistan, we have also witnessed the horror of Nidal Hasan’s Islamic terror massacre at Ft. Hood. Moreover, twelve additional American men are being sought on charges of collaborating with Islamic terrorists in Somalia. In 2009 alone, at least 80 Muslim men in America have been charged, convicted, or sentenced on terrorism-related charges. These events have transpired in cities as geographically dispersed as Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Little Rock, New York, Minneapolis, as well as our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
These are terrorists who are right here. They are our neighbors, our students, our co-workers. They do not believe the tenets of freedom; they merely enjoy them. They walk in the footsteps of the warriors and jihadists inaugurated by Mohammed. They do not embrace the very values for which many Americans, including several thousand moderate Muslims serving in the military, are willing to die.
Given that about 0.6% (1.35 MM) of the adult American population is Muslim according to the most recent American Religious Identification Survey, that very small population clearly generates an inordinate number of terroristic males. If American numbers of young male Muslim terrorists are this high, one can only imagine what those numbers would look like in countries like Somalia, Pakistan, or Yemen. Plainly, Ibrahim Hooper from the Council on American Islamic Relations finds no basis in fact for his wild claim that only “.0001% of Muslims will ever come near an act of violence.”
When will America and her leaders wake up to the threat that will not go away and the threat which is growing within our own borders? The present strategy of heaping praise and mindless platitudes on followers of Islam who want nothing less than our demise is patently absurd. And dangerous. One also has to wonder when, and if, President Obama will open his mind to read history and current events rather than merely parroting the politically correct mantras of our day about a great religion that has been defiled. A Nobel prize winner can, and must, do much better.

We, the editors and staff of HUMAN EVENTS, and the many Americans who have attached their signatures to this petition, hereby request your personal intervention to dismiss the charges against Navy SEAL operators SO2 Jonathan Keefe, SO1 Julio Huertas and SO2 Matthew McCabe.
These three men are charged with abusing a terrorist they captured in a daring nighttime raid on or about 1 September 2009. On that night, they — as part of a platoon from SEAL Team 10 — captured and detained Ahmed Hashim Abed, one of the most barbaric and dangerous terrorists in Iraq. The terrorist — in a move that is literally right out of the al-Queda training manual — complained of abuse, apparently alleging he was struck in the stomach.
We had hoped that the SEALs’ commanders would dispose of this matter at the lowest level — with a scolding and perhaps a few hundred pushups — for anyone actually guilty of inflicting an inconvenience on this bloody-handed barbarian. But on 29 September 2009, Gen. David H. Petraeus signed a letter authorizing MGen. Charles T. Cleveland to dispose of the allegations of misconduct. In that letter, Gen. Petraeus said that MGen. Cleveland could, “…dispose of these matters in any manner you deem appropriate. This includes the authority to convene courts-martial at any level up to and including General Courts-Martial and to refer charges concerning these individuals to any court-martial.”
The three now face special courts-martial next month. We believe their commanders — including General Petraeus — have failed you, the SEALs and the American people by not preventing the matter from going this far.
You are the person next in line above General Petraeus in the chain of command. You can, legally under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, intervene to dismiss the charges against the three SEALs and direct that they be restored to duty.
We respectfully request that you do so forthwith. For this matter to continue — and to place the honor and fighting future of these three men at stake — is manifestly a gross injustice.

A new video released by the Christian Action Network shows Muslim women at a compound in New York state practicing throat-slitting techniques and assault weapons attacks.
The video was distributed by the makers of the movie “Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around the U.S.,” which documents how a jihadist group has developed dozens of training camps across the nation. Jamaat ul-Fuqra has built 35 compounds – mostly in the northeastern corridor of the U.S.
The video includes segments of training exercises in which one person appears to practice a maneuver that would slit the throat of a victim. There are episodes of what appears to be automatic weapons fire at a target and incidents in which a handgun is held point-blank at a “victim’s” head. The video shows women marching in military formation, scaling walls, engaging in hand-to-hand combat and also reveals a Muslim confirming that the organization’s own census revealed that Muslims are a majority in the United States and they are claiming it as their own.
The speaker states, “We are 100 percent sure that Muslims are the majority in America.” He continues, “Our Islamic political party has based its manifesto on this fact. We want to declare once and for all that America is our country.”
According to CAN, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2005 warned about Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani-based organization that “had the capacity to attack” America. The U.S. State Department’s 1998 “Patterns of Global Terrorism” report notes the organization “seeks to purify Islam through violence.”
The report continued, “Members have purchased isolated rural compounds in North America to live communally, practice their faith and insulate themselves from Western culture. Fuqra members have attacked a variety of targets that they view as enemies of Islam.”
CAN, led by Martin Mawyer, has researched Muslims of America for years and has provided its video to the FBI, State Department and Homeland Security.
To date, there has been no response from the government, the group said. Mawyer told WND the political correctness America has adopted ultimately will be costly.
The hands of law enforcement and investigators are tied at this point, he said, because members of the organization are part of “a minority religion,” “they are African-American” “and in this particular case, are women.” WND

Hoping to encourage interfaith dialogue, an Islamic organization will unveil a pair of billboards in Minneapolis this week. The Minnesota chapter of the TERRORIST FRONT GROUP Islamic Circle of North America plans to unveil the billboards Friday, the eve of the Islamic New Year.
The billboards will be placed along Hiawatha Avenue in south Minneapolis and Central Avenue on the North Side.
They are part of a nationwide multimedia campaign that also includes placing posters on buses and subways in other big cities.
The billboards will display a toll-free telephone number where people can get answers to questions about Islam, as well as obtain free copies of the Qur’an and other Islamic literature.
“Got Questions? Get Answers,” the billboard states.
In a prepared statement, the campaign’s organizers are quoted as saying, “Islam is often a ‘MISUNDERSTOOD’ religion, leading some to hold bias views of Islam with discrimination and suspicion of Muslims. This ad campaign will provide an opportunity for the people of Twin Cities to take a fresh and positive look at Islam.” STAR TRIBUNE

Lusha denied 10 counts of possessing articles which gave rise to a reasonable suspicion that they were for a terror-related purpose.However, the jury of six men and six women convicted him on five counts after deliberating for four days.
Lusha was convicted of possessing 71.8 litres of petrol, computer documents called Ragnar’s Detonators and The Bomb Book, and video films called the Hezbollah Military Instructions Manual and Mobile Detonators.
The jury heard that he was in the process of downloading the Hezbollah videos when police visited his home in Derby on August 26 last year.
Prosecutor Nigel Godsmark QC told the court that the Hezbollah instructional videos were in Arabic and advised how to make detonators, explosives, a missile and a suicide bomber belt.
Mr Godsmark told the court there was also gruesome footage of live beheadings by extreme Islamic groups.

An added advantage, the plane is probably too light for Islamic terrorists to use it for an encore to 9/11. They’ll just have to hijack a French Airbus.
Sometime during the night of 8/9th December, unknown vandals spray painted the words “Islam will dominate the world” on the war memorial in Burton town centre. A passing member of the public spotted the graffiti and, filled with horror, snapped a picture (BELOW).
The Burton Mail was then informed of the desecration, and a short while later an article appeared in the paper — which ignored the nature of the graffiti and without any justification or evidence of any sort said that the “right wing” was to blame.
The Burton Mail’s article even boasted that it had censored the picture so that no-one could see what the graffiti actually said. Angered at the censorship, the photographer then handed over the pictures to this website for publication.
As a result of the Burton Mail’s censorship, any person reading that article would most certainly think that some “right wing” slogan had been scrawled all over the monument.
True to form, the Burton Mail only called the East Staffordshire Racial Equality Council for comment. A Mr Dennis Fletcher from that organisation was then quoted as saying that he “suspected someone from the far right was responsible.”
He said: “Graffiti of any type is terrible but when it includes racist material it has to be considered utterly unacceptable.”In other words, the Burton Mail tried its very best to completely invert the memorial desecration by innuendo to imply that it was the work of the “far right” and that it was “racist” as well.
It is however even more irresponsible and actually an outright lie to claim that the graffiti was “racist” when it in fact called for the Islamic religion to dominate.
The use of the word “racist” in this regard by the Burton Mail can only be meant to create a sense that “white racists” are to blame.LINK
