As an ex-pat that was living in Indonesia at the time of these beheadings and actually working with the government, I can tell you that many government officials most certainly didn’t display any remorse what so ever for the bombings and as a further note, all of these bombers are heroes and are even let out of prison not only for religious reasons to visit family but are even invited to the secretary of defense home for parties. While it is true the majority of Indonesian Muslims are extremely peaceful people, it’s the 30 percent that concern me. Think about it, right here in America according to a recent PEW research report stated American Muslims think beheadings and suicide bombings are permissible under Islamic Sharia Law and that it is acceptable. Humm, so putting that into perspective, right here in America 300,000 Muslims out of 1 million are potential terrorists. Imagine what it is like in the largest Indonesia country in the world.

So many revelations in the Holy Quran came down to provide guidance to Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and the fellow Muslims based on what they were confronting at that time. The verse 8:12 is one such verse which is misinterpreted. The verse and its brief explanation follows:
008.012 Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you:
give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers:
smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”
This verse and the verses before and after were revealed about the Battle of Badr, which occurred in Arabia in the early seventh century. A battle in which the pagans of Makkah traveled more than 200 miles to Madinah with an army of about 1000 to destroy Muslims. Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and fellow Muslims had suffered severe persecutions and torture for 13 years in the city of Makkah. And now that they had fled Makkah and found a sanctuary in the city of Madinah, they were once again threatened. Muslim Army was only about 300 strong. God Almighty gave the order to Muslims to fight to defend their lives and faith. The enemy came to them with the intent to kill Muslims. It was a war to defend themselves and their Faith. It was a war imposed upon Muslims.
And when you fight, you strive to kill the enemy during the fight.
However, even during the war, Islam has the highest moral law of war. You don’t kill children, women or any one who is not fighting with you. See the page on Human Rights in Islam.
You also don’t fight, if the enemy wants a peace treaty:
008.061 But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards
peace, and trust in God: for He is One that hears and knows (all things).
God Almighty also says in Chapter 60:
060.008 God forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith
nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God
loves those who are just.
060.009 God only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith,
and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from
turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these
circumstances), that do wrong.
For the ignorant, misquotation is a habit they enjoy. Misquoting the Holy Quran is a sin and a shame for the one who commits such an act, as God says in the Quran:
Behold! how they invent a lie against Allah! but that by itself is a manifest sin! [The Holy Quran,4:50]
And He says:
Who does more wrong than those who invent a lie against Allah? They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! The curse of Allah is on those who do wrong! [The Holy Quran,11:18]
Imagine if the following Biblical paragraph is used in the same way the above verse is used. Muslims know that Jesus, peace be upon him, like all prophets, came with the message of peace to earth. However, a misquotation may change the whole meaning. Read:
34 – Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 – For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Introduction
REVEALED most probably about the middle of the Mecca period, this surah derives its title from the participial noun al-ghashiyah in the first verse.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE DISPENSER OF GRACE:
(1) HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event?’*
* I.e., the Day of Resurrection.
(2) Some faces will on that Day be downcast,
(3) toiling [under burdens of sin], worn out [by fear],
(4) about to enter a glowing fire,
(5) given to drink from a boiling spring.
(6) No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns,
(7) which gives no strength and neither stills hunger.*
* According to Al-Qiffal (as quoted by Razi), this kind of hellish drink and food is a metonym for utter hopelessness and abasement. As regards the noun dari’ – which is said to be a bitter, thorny plant in its dried state (Jawhari) – it is to be borne in mind that it is derived from the verb dara‘a or dari‘a, which signifies “he [or "it"] became abject” or “abased” (ibid.): hence my rendering of this (obviously metaphorical) expression as “the bitterness of dry thorns”. A similarly metaphorical meaning attaches to the expression “a boiling spring” in verse 5, which recalls the term hamim so often mentioned in the Qur’an (see note 62 on the last sentence of 6:70).

(9) well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving,
(10) in a garden sublime,
(11) wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk.
(12) Countless springs* will flow therein,
* Lit., “a spring” – but, as Zamakhshari and lbn Kathir point out, the singular form has here a generic import, implying “a multitude of springs”. This metaphor of the life-giving element is analogous to that of the “running waters” (anhar) frequently mentioned in Qur’anic descriptions of paradise.
(13) [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high,*

(17) DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created?*
* Implying that a denial of resurrection and life in the hereafter renders the concept of a conscious Creator utterly meaningless; hence my interpretation of the words “who deny resurrection” in the first part of this verse. – As regards the noun ibil, it denotes, as a rule, “camels”: a generic plural which has no singular form. But one must remember that it also signifies “clouds bearing rain-water” (Lisan al-‘Arab, Qamus, Taj al-Arus) – a meaning which is preferable in the present context. If the term were used in the sense of “camels”, the reference to it in the above verse would have been primarily – if not exclusively – addressed to the Arabian contemporaries of the Prophet, to whom the camel was always an object of admiration on account of its outstanding endurance, the many uses to which it could be put (riding, load-bearing, and as a source of milk, flesh and fine wool) and its indispensability to people living amid deserts. But precisely because a reference to “camels” would restrict its significance to people of a particular environment and a particular time (without even the benefit of a historical allusion to past events), it must be ruled out here, for the Qur’anic appeals to observe the wonders of the God-created universe are invariably directed at people of all times and all environments. Hence, there is every reason to assume that the term ibil relates here not to camels but to “clouds pregnant with water”: the more so as such an allusion to the miraculous, cyclic process of the evaporation of water, the skyward ascension of vapour, its condensation and, finally, its precipitation over the earth is definitely more in tune with the subsequent mention (in verses 18-20) of sky, mountains and earth, than would be a reference to “camels”, however admirable and noteworthy these animals may be.
(18) And at the sky, how it is raised aloft?
(19) And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared?

(21) And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort:

Which Muslim country would anyone like to be deported to? As far as I can find out there are no Muslim countries I would wish to live in. I’ve been to the largest (Indonesia) and the only good thing I could say is that they drive on the left (Bali was OK) Why do so many Muslims want to leave their own countries and come to the West? His Prophetic Mission started when he was forty years old, around 610 C.E., and continued until 632 C.E. From the path of ignorance, mankind was lead to the straight path and was blessed with the guidance of Allah’s Last Prophet.
Shortly before his death, Prophet Muhammad delivered a final sermon. This final sermon was not only a reminder to his followers but also an important admonition. The final sermon confirms the end of his Prophetic Mission.
The tenth A.H. of the Islamic Calendar is considered to be one of the most significant years, for three reasons. Firstly, this was the year when the Prophet delivered his Last Sermon during his farewell pilgrimage to Mecca. Secondly, this was the year where number of deputation waited upon the Prophet to pay homage or to make peace with the Muslims. Thirdly, it was the golden period of Islam when multitudes of people embraced the faith by accepting the message of the Prophet.
Prophet Muhammed undertook his farewell pilgrimage in the tenth A.H. His farewell pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the most significant historical events in the minds of Muslims because it was first and last pilgrimage made by Prophet Muhammed and also it was the model for performing the fifth pillar of Islam, Al Hajj.
Prophet Muhammad’s final sermon was delivered on 632 C.E., the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah (10A.H.) in the Uranah Valley of Mount Arafat(in Makkah), during his farewell pilgrimage. There were countless Muslims who was present with the prophet during his last pilgrimage when he delivered his last Sermon.
THE FINAL SERMON:
After praising, and thanking Allah the Prophet (pbuh) said :
“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people”.
Thus the beloved Prophet completed his Final Sermon. After the sermon, near the summit of Arafat the revelation came down:
“This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My Grace upon you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion.” (Al Qur’an: Al-Maeda :3)
Even today the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad is passed to every Muslim in every corner of the word through all possible means of communication. Muslims are reminded about Prophet’s last sermon at Masjids, Imams lectures. Many Muslims print posters of the Prophet’s last sermon and distribute copies of it. Many hang it on the walls of their houses as to remind them of the Prophet’s final Admonition.. Though the Prophet’s soul has left this world his words are still living in our hearts.

Was Ayesha A Six-Year-Old Bride?
The Ancient Myth Exposed
A Christian friend asked me once, “Will you marry your seven year old daughter to a fifty year old man?” I kept my silence. He continued, “If you would not, how can you approve the marriage of an innocent seven year old, Ayesha, with your Prophet?” I told him, “I don’t have an answer to your question at this time.” My friend smiled and left me with a thorn in the heart of my faith. Most Muslims answer that such marriages were accepted in those days. Otherwise, people would have objected to Prophet’s marriage with Ayesha.
However, such an explanation would be gullible only for those who are naive enough to believe it. But unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the answer.
The Prophet was an exemplary man. All his actions were most virtuous so that we, Muslims, can emulate them. However, most people in our Islamic Center of Toledo, including me, would not think of betrothing our seven years daughter to a fifty-two year-old man. If a parent agrees to such a wedding, most people, if not all, would look down upon the father and the old husband.
In 1923, registrars of marriage in Egypt were instructed not to register and issue official certificates of marriage for brides less than sixteen and grooms less than eighteen years of age. Eight years later, the Law of the Organization and Procedure of Sheriah courts of 1931 consolidated the above provision by not hearing the marriage disputes involving brides less than sixteen and grooms less than eighteen years old. (Women in Muslim Family Law, John Esposito, 1982). It shows that even in the Muslim majority country of Egypt the child marriages are unacceptable.
So, I believed, without solid evidence other than my reverence to my Prophet, that the stories of the marriage of seven-year-old Ayesha to 50-year-old Prophet are only myths. However, my long pursuit in search of the truth on this matter proved my intuition correct. My Prophet was a gentleman. And he did not marry an innocent seven or nine year old girl. The age of Ayesha has been erroneously reported in the hadith literature. Furthermore, I think that the narratives reporting this event are highly unreliable. Some of the hadith (traditions of the Prophet) regarding Ayesha’s age at the time of her wedding with prophet are problematic. I present the following evidences against the acceptance of the fictitious story by Hisham ibn ‘Urwah and to clear the name of my Prophet as an irresponsible old man preying on an innocent little girl.
SUMMARY:
It was neither an Arab tradition to give away girls in marriage at an age as young as seven or nine years, nor did the Prophet marry Ayesha at such a young age. The people of Arabia did not object to this marriage because it never happened in the manner it has been narrated.
Obviously, the narrative of the marriage of nine-year-old Ayesha by Hisham ibn `Urwah cannot be held true when it is contradicted by many other reported narratives. Moreover, there is absolutely no reason to accept the narrative of Hisham ibn `Urwah as true when other scholars, including Malik ibn Anas, view his narrative while in Iraq, as unreliable. The quotations from Tabari, Bukhari and Muslim show they contradict each other regarding Ayesha’s age. Furthermore, many of these scholars contradict themselves in their own records. Thus, the narrative of Ayesha’s age at the time of the marriage is not reliable due to the clear contradictions seen in the works of classical scholars of Islam.
Therefore, there is absolutely no reason to believe that the information on Ayesha’s age is accepted as true when there are adequate grounds to reject it as myth. Moreover, the Quran rejects the marriage of immature girls and boys as well as entrusting them with responsibilities.

Best thing is that our side can vent off – even with some extremes..but we don’t make a cult-of-death out of it and stone women to death, create “CAIR” and collect a free $3,000,000 of taxpayers monies. We get along…it is islam that does not get along even within its own bizarre sects..seen it been there..been to Mid East…fukkem all, send them all back to the desert.
See, there’s the problem right there – that whole “it’s them, they’re the problem, kill them all” attitude without having the slightest clue what you’re on about. You can’t just go around making sweeping generalisations about a major religion based on teh actions of a few nutcases – imagine if the internet had beena round at the time of the Spaish Inquisition, people would have been bleating on about Christian extremisim and how they want to take over the world.
Come to think of it, christian extremeists DID take over most of the world – no wonder other extremists view christians with some mistrust.
Paulo, the Crusades were the response to the Muslim invasion of Europe. Time for the 2nd crusades to begin. FYI, the Saudi Govt estimates that the the number of terrorists/extremists in the Muslim world is at least 10%. That means there are at least 150,000,000 Muslims running around who should be killed.
